I bet a lot of you are doing this cuz we are lacking sun. Are there any good homemade recipes for using green tomatoes taht just wont ripen when picked? Our days are getting very cold in the 12C and no sun, so I dont expect any more to ripen on the plants. I would like to make green tomato sauce recipe any goddies out there please?

This is a green tomato salsa recipe I use. It's great on enchiladas. If you look at the "Note" under the table in the recipe, it says you can use green tomatoes instead of tomatillos.

pie... i have an amish recipe for "mock mincemeat" pie that uses green tomatoes. i think you can use them like sour apples - seems like ma baked pa a green tomato pie in one of the little house on the prairie books..

She did! She didn't have any apples so she made the pie with green tomatoes and Pa was convinced she had gotten apples from somewhere. I had forgotten all about that... Maybe I'll attempt a green tomato pie this fall because I have a feeling the family will revolt if I serve fried green tomatoes more than twice.
