I am seeing some few beans here and there but I am wondering if this is it for the fall bean season? I need the plots badly, but will wait a bit longer if need be. My peas are bearing one here and there and of good good quality. Pitty they were of such poor yield in the spring. I know better next time.

The green beans I planted earlier in the year look awful now, but they are still flowering and producing beans. I'm going to let them keep on going as long as they will. Then I will cut the plants off for the compost bin, whilst leaving the roots in the soil for the organic nitrogen fix. Pea roots have the same nitrogen benefit for soil.

Well, maybe the beans...But undoubtably not the Peas!
You should be growing these, with little frost, but not with heavy snows.

Thanks guys. Well the beans and pears were both planted end of August. The beans especially were a fall variety and the peas were the same I planted and had no luck with in the spring. So I will leave them sit until they die down. I have had a nice crop of peas so far.
