How far down should I dig my fence to keep out burrowing critters, such as rabbits, groundhogs, ect. shadowwalker37148

At least 12 inches. But I found that putting roofing sheeting, the kind they use where the roof makes a gully, works better than fencing. gourdman

I just read about this very problem shadowalker37148. I am thinking of raising my own hens...it mentions putting the fencing into the ground and burying it curling backwards...this way the digging critter is constantly hitting fence..moves back...hits fence....moves back...hits fence and gives up. :)

If you have a real stickery rose bush (like Rasa Rugosa), lay the trimmings along the outside of the fence. Critters don't like stickers in their feet any more than humans do.
