Does anyone know of a good strawberry variety that can take the hot summers of Northeast Texas? I want one for the home garden not for commerial sales. So taste is my number one priority not self life.
Thanks for any help

when i lived in zone 7 hot humid northern virginia we grew a variety that was given to us from some friends who were thinning thier patch. i don't remember the name but it had something to do with morning in the name of 4 words. i have since seen it on the web but still do not remember it's name. sorry. but it's out there.

try growing indoors. shallow 4" sill planters should work well if you have air conditioning. just set the planters where they'll get sun.
if you have a screen porch the indirect sun under the porch should do well to lessen the intensity and keep from scorching the plant.
there's a variety grown in central florida around plant city, fl. get on the web and find an ag distributor. they'll have what you want.
