A friend of mine and I drove down to Bakers Creek today to pick up our seeds in person. It was a hub of activity today. People were running arround filling incoming orders and attempting to help those who just came by. Jerre himself was there to help those of us who came in to buy. I was amaized how much they have done to Bakersville over the past year. If you haven't gone there you should. I bought 1/4 lb of lettuce seed and some tomato seed and Richard bought 8 or 10 things it was a nice drive from Springfield. They are getting ready to open a resturant this year and It looks like it might be worth the drive to try out.

Hubby surprised me the other day, and told me that he has made reservations for us to attend the spring festival at Baker Creek this year! Yippee!

I was there a couple weeks ago and met everyone!
My Dad was with me and said that Jere reminded him of a
young Jimmy Stewart. I had to agree.

What do you think?

You will love the festivals, Little Bit, I've set up at them ever since Jere started them I remember the first one was held ontop the hill, in a partial pole barn with tarps over top the frame, so the garden speakers could talk. Along came a big Thunderstorm and a lot of us hefty menfolk held down the tarps so the speaker could finish his talk. They have came a LONG ways since. Strong

Wife and I drove over to Baker Creek yesterday. Picked up seeds for this season. The workers there were very busy pulling orders. About 6 folks pulling one order after another. Glad to see the business is booming. It's fun to walk thru the store with catalog in hand and picking up the seeds described.

Yeah I remember you. I was the one in the camo coveralls. I had been doing home inspections in Hartville

My cousin and I will probably go pick up some seeds soon as it is pretty crowded to do that on Springfest day. We usually get some then too though. Mostly we get plants and visit everyone and have a great time. Now we can eat there too!

I would so love to be the Chef at the new restaurant. Talk about dream job/menu with all that selection right there

Cheffie,

I met the new chef a couple of weeks ago while shopping and talking with Jere at BC. His name is Paul Allen, and (according to the BC catalog) operates "Da Barefoot Chef" in Ozark, Missouri.
