it's been suggested a few times that I join a forum for Canadians so that I might trade seeds the same way the American members here do...
So I keep trying to find people on sites that might want to trade with me..

Well, I almost made it this time..Joined GW after several considerations..
And tonight, I found a post about a seed exchange..Too bad it went for all of 2 weeks???
The notice went up in midAugust and signup closed on Labour Day weekend..
approx 50 participants. No mention of what kinds of seeds...just SASE and must contribute 10 packets with SASE for each...
And oh, BTW, I received an email this morning from the admin there asking me to stick around and be a part of their forum...cuz they need members who care about seed saving and exchanging...yeah, ok, I'll think about it. just not for long

Bluelaced, try also (free) the Pharmer Phil forums. They are getting together a seed saving/swapping group for heirloom/openpollenated seeds. And I think someone there or here mentioned sending seeds as "beading" or "collage" supplies for shipping from US to another country--don't know if that works, but it's an interesting concept from an artistic brain.

Tasha, already a member at Phil's and joined his new site. There is no problem shipping seeds out of the U.S. to Canada. And according to a couple of sources, seldom a problem in reverse. Like anything that goes through customs, it depends on many issues. How it's packaged; whether or not it looks suspicious; if the customs dec is properly filled out; who the inspecting agent is at the time and what kind of a day they are having..

Personally, I would not advise lying on customs paperwork. It's not in the best interests of those involved...

Thanks for the thoughts Friends. Yes, this is a great group of people and a difficult act to follow. I keep trying to find people local to where we live that are of similar interests to strike up friendships with, but having a hard time of it. I joined one group, but every meeting/social event is held on my weekends to work. Do ya think they are trying to tell me something? LOL
