Charlie,
When you work for someone else, ANYONE else, you are pretty much at the mercy of the whims of whomever decides to hire and fire. Even if they give you all the "proper notice", they can still get rid of you if they want to... The days of being able to depend on some corporation or gub'mint agency to uphold their end of a bargain is long gone. Unions always take more than they give.... they HAVE to. Same with insurance, taxes, etc...... No one can give you more than you have paid in, unles they first take it from someone else, and, skim some off the top for administration. Of course, the governement can simply PRINT money, which costs them almost nothing, which causes the value to go down and prices to go up, so even that is a tax on everyone....
Best advice I can give is simple advice.
1:Get out of the big city.
2: Get a small place where you can grow your own food.
3: Have ZERO debt.
4: work for yourself.
Forget the past, but learn from it. Forgive those who have wronged you, and enjoy life. Otherwise, one lives as a perpetual victim.
Best wishes from Missouri,
HOD & DUN.

Charlie, I'd have to agree with the sentiments above. You could end up spending a lot of your money and a lot of your life trying to make a point. Money you can make again, but time spent can never be earned again. Are these people really worth that kind of expense? And what kind of return will there be? Chances are, even if you did manage to get some kind of satisfaction, it would be the exception not the new rule.
If this issue is all that's holding you back from a better life in better surroundings, by all means, do NOT let them ruin your life! Put them behind your back and move on!
Ahem! Stepping off my soapbox, now...

Hey Charlies, when I worked in the retail I was in a Union and they took me for my hard earned money. They are bunch of con people who will take your dues and forget who you are. Think of it this way, that was in your past, "time to move on" and do bigger and better things for yourself. Stresses cause heart attacks and other.

Sounds like if both cases are settled you'll be taking a long vacation at the hospital. But that will be a good time for you to relax and consider the future...
