I'm looking for a brochure/book/newsletter on companion planting in a garden. A friend said it worked, but can't recall where she got this information. Help!

I second lovetogarden's recommendation. I bought it earlier this year on amazon.com

I pick it up evey time I start to plant something.

Rodale has a book "Great Garden Companions" by Sally Jean Cunningham (Cornell), very comprehensive. Also a small book by Bob Flowerdew called "Good Companions", which is alphabetical. There are several internet sites. One I liked had something to do with moon planting phases (I have never tried that) but had a wonderful list - herbs, weeds, and flowers. There is also "Roses love Garlic" by Riotte (Storey).

Garlic and chives (supposedly) repel aphids.

Check out the book, "How to Grow More Vegetables" by John Jeavons. It has a very good companion and antagonist guide in it.
