Sometimes I just take frozen blackberries (or any fruit), throw them in the blender with a little milk, and blend.

I grow several different berries and do this with all of them: partially mash 1 piont berries, put in a quart canning jar, fill to overflowing with cheap vodka or brandy and seal. Set jar uin a dark place and invert monthly for 4 months. strain juice off berries, do what you like with the berries, strain juice thru coffee filter; add 1 cup sugar to some juice and heat until sugar disolves, add to jar and reseal for as long as you can wait then have some. last year we made red and black currant cassis, red and black raspberry and blackberry brandies and liquors, very nice. The black and red currant is nice to add a shot to a glass of champagne or white wine, also in different recipes.
