Aster leaves edible?

I read that aster leaves are edible. No surprise considering that daisy leaves are edible, but are there any limitations? Are there certain composite (daisy-like) species whose leaves must be avoided (poisonous, indigestible, etc.)?

I'd avoid crysanthemums.

Remember that painted daisy is the source of pyrethrum (http://www.livingwithbugs.com/permethrin_pyrethrum.html) .... commonly used as an "organic" insect poison...
