I just posted a quinoa recipe on my blog if anyone is interested! It's really yummy and healthy. It's also going to be published in a cookbook that is coming out next year. Check it out by clicking on the link in my signature!
Enjoy!:D

I didn't think anything other than there is no signature line?
It made both Rob and I quite ill - tried making it here at the house and had it in a restaurant, very ill both times. We won't eat it again, though we both liked the flavor.

People have to read the label carefully and make sure they wash the saponin off of the quinoa if it was not done in the packaging process. But since you liked the flavor, Imp, I don't think that was the problem. I am sorry it bothered you. I am always looking for an alternative to rice and pasta, so amaranth and quinoa are fine by me!

I had thought the saponin might have not been rinsed enough in the restaurant, so did it at home- and we were even sicker than the first time! Almost like the results as if we had not rinsed, if you know what I mean, but I rinsed it even more than called for to be sure.
Shame, good taste and easy to grow.

Yep, you can't win them all. Oh well, at least BC has a thousand other options for things to grow! LOL

You could substitute couscous for the quinoa if it makes you sick.:)

Very nice blog! I look forward to reading more of it when I get a chance.
That quinoa recipe looks delicious. My daughter is eating lots of quinoa these days so I will pass this recipe on to her. I tried quinoa a couple of times and I appear to be allergic to it.:( I might try that recipe with couscous, or maybe bulgur since I have some already.

Thanks Artemisia! Bulgur would be good too! I haven't had breakfast yet and all this food talk is making me HUNGRY!

I liked your blog too! I spent some of the afternoon there when I couldn't log on here due to updates.
The link is the signature line. Your puppy is so cute, but that little twinkle in the eye must mean that he can be a bit of a handful!:D your post in the blog about the impromptu snow angel making had me chuckling out loud!

Haven't clicked on your blog yet, erdrasher, but wanted to say that yes, we like quinoa. I went through a 'try new grains' time and I liked quinoa quite a like. The first time I ate it was at a vegan dinner. They made a dish out of it with roasted garlic, broth, onions, celery, and herbs topped with toasted pumpkin seeds.
Now I'm off to see your blog...
