I just made up a batch of refrigerator cuke pickles. But, I have some brine left over, and I know that I will have new cukes to pickle in a few days. Can you save the brine? If so, just put it in the fridge??? How long can you save it?
Also, anybody got good refrigerator piclkle recipes?
Mine is:
Refrigerator Cucumber Pickles
Brine is enough for a gallon of uncooked sliced cukes and sweet onions:
3 c. apple vinegar
3 c. sugar
½ c. salt
1 tsp. mustard seeds
1 tsp. celery seed
½ tsp. turmeric
Mix all ingredients of brine in a pot and warm until salt and sugar are blended. Pour over sliced cukes and onions sliced thin. Store in refrigerator. Pickles will keep a long time.
