I have not purchased seeds from Bakers Creek (BC), yet. Have only purchased books from them so far. Am compiling my list of seeds from BC, now, but wondered if anybody could answer the following question.
For those of you have purchased from BC, do the packets give you germination guidelines? For instance, do they tell you:
Optimal germination temperature
Optimal transplant growth temperatures (after emergence)
Days to harvest (from seed or transplant date)
Hardening advice
Optimal planting spacing
Also wondering if Seed Savers Exchange gives you this info, too?
Thanks.

I would have to look into this; however, I can supply you with the basic guidelines for most crops!

Baker Creek does not list all that info on their seed packets, but its very easy to find those answers if you do a search on the internet.
I would also suggest you contact your University Extension Office. For about a dollar they can sell you a planting guide. It lists the dates when to plant a variety of vegetables and also has a list of different vegetable varieties they have been successful with.

Days to harvest is in the catalog. Nothing but an ad for Baker Creek on the seed packets. I have never needed the rest though. I can say they give a decent amount of seeds and they all have germinated really well for me.

Sandbar, here is a link to a very helpful article entitled " Temperature effects on vegetable seed -percentage of germination ". I have found the charts to Deadly Accurate w/fresh seed. The site where this is located has a great wealth of other practical insights, as well, if you browse it thoroughly. Enjoy... :) :) :)

Gimme3Steps, I just wanted to say thanks for the link! Really useful site, and it explains some stuff I wasn't aware of--i.e. indoor temp 68-72, but mine usually is 60-62 degrees except for summer/fall. Again, thanks for posting the link.
