They are wonderful weeders but, messy they dont have any since that I dont want them on the deck . I enjoy working in the orchard and having the geese, ducks ,chickens and turkeys all around me . It is like having little students follow and studying your every move. Looking for Spring !! I hope everyone has a good year. Back to hatchin little ones. Good day. Sara

Would love to have some geese but afraid they would not last very long around here. Too many wild things that eat birds. We have 4 peacocks and have to pen them up at night,(well try to anyway). They too are a mess. But when they strut around showing their tail fan (what ever that is called) they are worth cleaning up after.

I was thinking of getting 6 pipping turkey eggs and putting them under a sitting chicken hen so we could butcher them this fall. I would love to have some geese, but I don't want the........ dropings. :D
Has anyone here ever raised turkeys for this? How long until they are big enough to clean?

In general I process my turkeys at 22-24 weeks. I raise Royal Palm and Burbon Reds. They are both smaller but, I dont think you can beat the taste. Turkeys are very messy also it just all goes with living the farm life. Good luck !
