I had some lakota squash seed, for a few years, some one i new, took the seeds I had saved and tossed them out...thinking they were from a different plant.
Now, last year, I purchased a small packet at the local wally world, from a big seed company, these were NOT the same Lakota's I raised, they were much smaller and did not have the markings, has anyone else had this kind of results?

Oh and by the way, I was very excited to see Rosa Bianca eggplant seed in the new Baker Creek Catalog!!!!

Oh no! I bought the Lakota seeds from Wal-mart too, they are not the same? I did not buy them last year, Baker Creek did not list them this year, and I though I had scored for $.99. Well I'll try the seeds I bought anyhow, and hope for the best. Guess I should have jumped on them last year.

Oh and did you notice they did not list the Yugoslavian Finger Fruit this year? That is another I shoud have jumped on when I had the chance.

They should be back, crops are lost some times, but we continue to try to offer as many as possible each year.

Hey Guys; The squash that is currently being offered as Lakota is a recent re-bred plant to look like the original Lakota that is Extinct.-

lol if zebraman is correct about they are now extinct Pharmerphil you might try locating the dump they went to and dig them up - sure adds a twist to the saying "one man's trash is another man's riches" :D

Pharmerphil how did you get the 2007 catalog?

Hey Jere, is that really a Lakota squash you are holding??? If that is the case, the Lakota squash that I grew did not look anything close to the one you are holding.
