A member at my forum from Melbourne Australia posted these pics, wanting an I.D.
At first glance, I thought Chayote, but the leaves aren't correct, any Ideas? :confused:

Not real familar with Aussie fruits, but it maybe breadfruit. Can't say I 've seen the leaves though. Anybody else?

Thanks for the reply Scakya! :) hmmm, I obviosly am no Aussie plant expert either. I thought breadfruit was a tree :confused:
anywho, I think part of my problem is AGE! :D , I know what this is,seen it before, but I can't seem to find my recall button! :rolleyes:

Hi Pharmerphil,
Got thinking about it and of course you're right about breadfruit being a tree. But it maybe another climbing plant called akebia. Not sure on the spelling on that though.

Trivia,, mmmmm,, Looks like one of those over seas cucumbers, they come in all shapes and sizes as you know..But Im sure you have ruled that one out..Nimrod Pretty neat Phil..

It's called a Cruel Plant also known as cruel vine, moth plant or bladder vine!! Scientific name is Araujia Sericifera. Its called the cruel plant because the flower traps moths with a sticky substance, which adheres their tongues to the plant until the morning warmth softens the stickiness enough for the moth to be freed!
We saw thee same plant in Orgiva (Spain) where we live, and my partner’s dad was so intrigued by this strange looking plant that he sent off a sample for identification in Britain. So thanks Toddy!!!!!

Dude, that plant will eat you and take over the world. Do not be deceived. No way is that a breadfruit tree. Breadfruit = good. Audrey II = scares me.
