i had joined these forums awhile back when i first shopped the store (i am some 2 hours away) but never really read much, we were busy renovating this old house.

i must say it is nice to read here, and hear some progressive opinions, though i realize everyone here is from different areas i know many of you are in Missouri like me. perhaps then you understand how refreshing it is to read about people like Jere, and others, here in my home state- i am not alone. I spent so much time in Northern California that i forgot how to live without likeminded friends.

heirloom gardening, organic gardening- just parts of a fierce passion my my family & i have for the earth.

thank you! tabitha

Even I, now in the 'cooler' called Minnesota, moved here from Missouri! I have been gardening...well, forever, as a child, with my parents, organic then...partly cause we were poor, mainly because my Mother, full blood Cherokee, truly loved and honored motherearth. As a teen, I (being of that age) tended and cared the 'communal' gardens.
Ofcourse, then came early marriage, children, and again..I gardened. It's a state of mind, I know many, who like I worked along side their parents, who felt 'Like a SLAVE' doing the garden chores, and won't even touch a hoe now! Now, past the age of 50, I can remember every garden I ever planted, every new place I moved into, to find a worn out soil, akin to gray concrete, and I took pride in the fact that after a couple years, I could Plunge my hand deep in the soil, of that plot.
Thank You, for caring, and being Organic. :)
