Today's 1/22/06 Nevada Appeal www.nevadaappeal.com has good two column article by Christine Delsol of San Francisco Chronicle on Placer Valley [CA, near Auburn]mandarin, pomegranate and other fruit growers and the newish Mountain Mandarin Festival and tours akin to the Apple Hill area's.
Makes me want to go there.
Anyone here grow pomegranates or pistachios or mandarins? I've received conflicting advice on whether or not my little valley could handle pomegranates and pistachios....someday I'd like to try them, also blood oranges.
