I am a Plant Breeder. I am starting a new program to hybridize and select squash/pumpkin cultivars resistant to diseases and pests for Southern Indiana.
I want to trade squash seeds. Once I know what you want and have to offer in trade, I will be ordering seeds from Baker Creek, Bunton, Pinetree, and other authenic sources to trade for your seeds. I only need 5 seeds of each cultivar. I am mainly interested in Cucurbita moschata and C. mixta cultivars because they should be resistant to squash vine borer which kills >99% of C. pepo and C. maxima cultivars in my county of Indiana. I do not want home-grown seeds unless they are pure (only one cultivar bloomed that day, or controlled sib matings) or seeds of known crosses.
I will be starting a free mailing list for exchanging info on Squash/pumpkin pests; send me your address to get on the list. I would like to exchange information with serious Cucurbita growers or students. Write me at EdelRoots@wmconnect.com.
Quit complaining about Squash Vine Borer and help improve the SVB-resistant cultivars that grow in your climate and taste good.

I will look through my seeds. I have been here 7 yrs and have never seen a Squash Vine Borer. I can't say if it's the varieties or if they are not really a problem in this area. I will PM you with a list.
