I was just wondering if you can eat apple blossoms. I fry dandelion blossoms and make dandelion wine and lavender wine. Has anyone eaten apple blossoms and if so, how did you prepare them?
I am an amateur winemaker. I have fun making my own wines and meads with lemon balm, lavender, rhubard, homegrown grapes and raspberries. I was reading an old book on winemaking and it has recipes for everything from sage and parsley wines to parsnips and beets wines. I looked out the window at the crabapple tree and got inspired I guess.
Anyway, it won't be long now and things here will start blooming and growing again. Can't wait for the lavender! I make an iced herbal tea from the lavender and lemon balm and a little honey. Cool and relaxing, you can just feel the stress melt away. (sigh!) God bless, you all.

Never eaten them, but I wouldn't hesitate. They are in a large family of edible plants.

Hi Matthew, Apple blossoms are quite edible and I dry a large amount each spring toadd into my herb teas. They don't have a lot much flavor though.
