Repellant spray?

Ever use the spray thats supposed to turn rabbit and deer away from your garden? did it work?

once a long time ago, nope, didn't work
outdoor dogs seem to work the best at keeping the deer/coons out
for rabbits, we sprinkle black pepper, on and around the plants, rabbits "sniff" before they bite.

We bought some 'new' kind this year. We hope it will work, but aren't putting all of our eggs in one basket, lol. I might try hair clippings, a row of plants deer hate etc etc too.
