I am interested in finding a source for a varitey of apple called "Virginia Beauty" I have only seen it in North Carolina. the apple is a large, flat apple with dark maroon shoulders and greenish over most of the rest of it. The flesh was white. Does anyone know this apple?

You should try www.bighorsecreekfarm.com . They are wonderful to order from--I have ordered from them 3 times now and they always seem to go above and beyond. They also have a tremendous variety--including your "Virginia Beauty", but the description sounds different. I bet you could call and they might be able to help you.

Another really fine source is Raintree Nursery in Oregon. I dunno if they carry your particular variety of course.

Well, I'm a bit late getting back to the Forum because I've been doing, guess what? If you guessed digging, rototilling and planting, you've hit the mark. I didn't find Virginia Beauty on the website

I don't know if they have what you are looking for but they have a really large variety of heirloom apple trees. One of the other members of the Forum suggested this site and I discovered they will graft for the first time the Arkansas Black to dwarf root stock. The bare root stock will be available come January.

Happy Gardening!
