I have a suggestion.

I noticed in one of the issues of The Heirloom Gardener that Baker Creek donated 100 packets to an heirloom project in South Africa. Perhaps Baker Creek could allow people to donate a packet to a worthy project when they order. It would make giving back very easy.

Does anybody else think this a good idea?

Man, now I wish that I hadn't already made my seed order! Personally, I think that's a great idea, sign me up!

Great idea, but do they want to fool with it?

I do like the idea and if they don't want to, we could donate them ourselves. Heck, I always have extra seeds of one sort or another.

I think it is a nice idea. I am sure there are organizations here in the US that would be thrilled to get seeds. Maybe some type of community garden that is in a big city.

Good ideas!

I will try to think about how to work out the details over the summer, and see if we can start some type of program!

Thanks,
Jere

Though not necessarily a non-profit scenario, this could be an interesting option..

Certainly this sort of gardening meshes nicely with much of what I have read on this forum, assuming that there is no ideological bias against profit for hard work.. :)
