My new cucumber and okra plants leaves are turning yellow and the plants seem to be drying up..............can't figure out why. I haven't set them out yet (I am in North Dakota)

Could this be the handy work of the "squash vine boring beetle"? Take a look at your vines and stems...down near the soil....do you detect a hole chewed into the stem? if so....pluck the stem or vine and slice it open...you may find the larva happily munching on the innards. I found the moth last year in my garden....I will be on the look out this year :(
