Move the garden to a slightly sunnier location... Like, Hawaii.

I have money limitations, but seeing that we are getting older, I am leveling the yard up into three levels with two terraces. The top terrace will have the lawn on it, small , level, easy to mow. The middle terrace will have garden beds and mulched paths, plus the compost bins behind the shed. No mowing there. The lowest level will be planted with buffalo grass. Again, no mowing. I plan to let the squash and pumpkin vines run wild down there. My gift of lots less mowing for hubby yields lots more places for me to plant things. I want to figure out if I can grow enough on our property to sustain the two of us.

Jenn,
Not really.
When time permits, check out the following Hawaiin farm website:
hamukasprings.com
Click on products,
Then click on tomatoes.
Very impressive operation.
And this guy actually cares about the environment.
