I accidentally stumbled on some of this in bloomb at an acquaintance's house and it smells wonderful.

Anybody got any seeds out there or know where I can buy them? I googled it, and only got ONE hit! This must be rare stuff.

Hey Donsgal;Sage roots easily,I prefer to use liquid Hormone as it works better. It is Flamable and Definitely NOT organic but the powder will work as well.

Hi donsgal! Are you familiar with clary sage? It can have purple blooms and does indeed smell wonderful. Just a thought....

donsgal, Are you talking about Mexican sage? It grows 4 or 5 feet tall and wide. We bought a plant at a greenhouse in TX several years ago. It is not hearty so I take cuttings and over winter them in a greenhouse. The bloom is at least a foot long and looks like purple velvet. I have never seen the seeds in a catalog but found the plant at a greenhouse in central KS last spring.

Johnny's Selected Seeds sells purple flowering sage. It's really beautiful. A friend of mine was looking for it and we found it there.

Hope this helps.
