A search for info on this pepper turned up something I didn't expect. And this would be that it is a general term used for peppers that have a growth pattern resembling the spurs of a rooster.
Yet the U of Georgia's Southern Seed Legacy Catalog lists them as being an actual variety?
Generic term only ? or Both a description and a Variety..I'm confused..

If you go to the Capsicum Variety Database link below, you can see all the named varieties and descriptions. Also, There is a great listing of Recipes here with a main ingredient of peppers.

Gary, I've had their recipe section saved to my puter for a while now...Never thought to check out their database...DUH
