i have spit bugs on all my plants. i've tried washing them off with a hose but they just come back. any ideas of how to get rid of them with out pesticieds? thanks in advance, scott

I've researched your question and these are the possible solutions that were found:
Use a strong jet of water to destroy spittle home. Spit bug will make another home, so you may need to repeat this several times. Soon they give up and spit someplace else.
Neem oil is probably the best way to get rid of your bugs. Neem is a botanical insecticide from a tree native to the Middle East. It is 100% organic and completely safe as it is non-toxic to humans and animals.
Spittle bugs aren't too hard to get rid of. First, I would try washing the plant a little to get the "spit" off. Then use an insecticide to kill them. It can be organic like Trounce . . . Make sure the insecticide does hit the actual insect and not just the spit.

thanks for your reply. i've found a source locally for neem oil and i will give it a try. scott :)
