Is this something that is hard to grow from seed or something? I went looking on line for a source for seeds since I didn't find any in baker creek, johnny seeds or burpee. I found nada! So far the only thing I have found is this site http://www.nothyme.com/herbs/lemonherbs.cfm that has plants. Is this pretty much normal or am I missing something?

Werecat, try this site... worldwideplants.com I tried many, many years ago (when I was a kid) and that was a long, long time ago.... I don't think they grow that big, at least I don't remember that they did. And from what I understand once you get them started it will take a very long time before they bear fruit, like years 4-7 years. This website sends you plants that have been "grafted" I think that's what it's called. That is done from a bloom from the mother plant. I asked a lot of questions, and got lots of answers from a very nice man there. He promises that they will bear fruit the following year. Depending where you live you can leave them outside for the winter, where I am I will have to bring them in for the winter. Next month I plan on ordering one lemon and one lime plant from him. He offers a large selection of citrus and tropical plants.
Good luck, but do check him out.

Ps... his prices are very reasonable.

I treat mine like an annual and just keep cuttings over the winter ready for next spring...I would gladly root some for you if you would like.

I have it every year.....granted it doesnt ever seed but it has gotten rather large!!!

PM me if you are interested.

Thanks!
