I asked this question in a post in another part of the forum, but I think it really belongs here:
Have you had any luck with cover crop rotation controlling squash borers in soil known to be affected? I was at a seminar in CT last summer(Farm Days in Hamden - go if you can!), and was introduced to the idea of rudbeckia as a cover crop rotation for root knot nematode, and have seen it used to good effect. I know some nitrogen fixing covers will help control other pests.... is there anything that can help control overwintering borers? We are adding more raised beds next year, and will be able to go to a four year rotation if necessary at that point. I'm trying to get my plan hashed out by the end of the summer, because I'm a control freak with a garden and need to feel some semblance of being in charge
