I bought a large container of Oolong tea today so that my children and I could make our own Masala Chai tea. It is known in the US mostly as just Chai. We found several recipes online and will try them out, but thought that maybe someone here makes their own and would share their recipe.

Well, I don't see any replies here, but I got a couple of PM's about this. Thanks to the person (did you want to stay anonymous?) who gave me the instant chai recipe. I tried it as is, with the instant tea, and I also tried it with the brewed tea. Turns out that a combination of both worked best! LOL Maybe I didn't brew it strong enough. Thanks so much! If you don't mind, I will post it here for anyone else who wants to try it. Let me know.

and the recipe:
INGREDIENTS
1 cup nonfat dry milk powder
1 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
1 cup French vanilla flavored powdered non-dairy creamer
2 1/2 cups white sugar
1 1/2 cups unsweetened instant tea
2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon allspice
½ to ¾ teaspoon white pepper
DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, combine milk powder, non-dairy creamer, vanilla flavored creamer, sugar and instant tea. Stir in ginger, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. In a blender or food processor, blend 1 cup at a time, until mixture is the consistency of fine powder.
To serve: Stir 2 heaping tablespoons Chai tea mixture into a mug of hot water.
Just as good as the stuffy ultra expensive coffee / bread shops. :^)
ps. really easy to convert to no sugar added version by using sugar free french vanilla creamer and splenda rather than sugar.
