why don't you ask them about a artificial spincter to control your yearn flow after they build you another bladder.
if you have to have a cathertor the rest of your life,it will always be infected if you don't change it daily.
i feel for you friend, luckly for me my cancer did not spread past the prostate,i am on a medicine that keeps my tetstrone level down and i have started grow boobs.
doc told me that it is not female hormones,,but i wonder some times about it.
i have to have a P S A test every six months to check to see if cancer came back,,,so far so good.
i go back up to doctor sept. 7 to reactivate my spincter, which they should have done last may,,but the young intern didn't know what he was doing.
it seems that once the doctors get their hooks in to you there is no end to it.
i think i am better off then you though,i wish you luck and pray that you have good doctors working on you .

i had prostate cancer, they took it out a little better then 3 years ago,,i walked around for 2 years with a cathater hanging out of me,and hitting the E R rooms a couple of times a month,,i did not have any insurance.
when the state found out i had cancer,i got medicaid and went to the university clinics for my operations.
if i had insurance in the beginning they might had save my prostate.
i also had a protrusion of the upper part of my bladder,so the same doctor cut it out and now i have a small bladder,,i also have a artificial spincter in me to shut my water off,but at the moment it is not activated, that another storey.

Thank you, Skip. I know God will help you recover. It's real hard hearing about Aunt Patsy. She's a pastor's wife, and former school teacher. Her husband passed this Jan. 2010. It's bad all around. I appreciate your thoughts, and prayers for me, my family, and my Aunt Patsy.
This week, we had word that Mom's other sister Lorraine who is in a nursing home (has her right mind, as sharp as ever) fell and broke her leg. Good grief!
