Thank you! I thought Mr. Froggy was adorable! I almost didn't spy him inside the rose since he's so green, blending in with the foliage. But what a smart little guy to sit cool and comfy inside a soft, sweet red rose!:)

Wow, Earl - you have a real treasure there! I hate that so many rare plants are be destroyed for development - we have a patch of lady slippers way back in our woods that I tell very few people about.

Wow!! that is so cool. I've got shots of flowers, butterflies, butterfly caterpillars, bumble bees, etc., but those frog pictures are awesome.

Garlic in pots..Hmmmm very interesting!! By george I think you have something there!! Wonderful Idea and beautiful flower (not a rose) What is it?

Re: any pics for inspiration?bragging rights???

That is a bloom on the winter blooming camelia Ed and I bought the day we got married - over a year ago. It is still in the nursery pot, because we can't agree on where to plant it.

Thanks. I love the high caliper pots - they are made of cloth and come in all sizes from 1 gal to huge- they are like moveable raised beds. They air prune roots and wick moisture from the ground. I keep buying them for flowers and Ed steals them for garlic and onions!

Re: any pics for inspiration?bragging rights???

I am so going to have to get me some of those... I liked my tomatoes that were in pots.. When it got so darned hot I put them under a tree .. Or in the shade.. My other ones just suffered.. those would be perfect .. You get them online or??

chickweed December 17, 2009 12:54 PM

Re: any pics for inspiration?bragging rights???

Online - here is the site. The initial cost to me is about the same as permanent raised beds, but the diversity pays off in the long run. Nothing to build, and I can reuse them and put them anywhere.
