klorentz, that link was to Peace Seeds. I tried googling but just get that "bad link" notice. Anybody know what happened to Peace Seeds' website?

Well...I'm still obsessed with seed companies, I guess.
I've been thinking about making a gardening blog, and so I finally did. Don't expect much, it's cruddy and I'm still learning what to do. Also, I can't upload any pictures to it until I upgrade my computer. My first post is a list of seed companies. I'd really like any feedback you folks can offer. If you have a Google account, you can leave comments on the blog if you'd like to do so. Or you can PM me or just reply here since that's probably easiest. If you have political reasons to remove a vendor, I'd like to hear them. I also have a list of places that I did NOT include on my blog, but that some people just can't live without: http://www.thompson-morgan.com/ http://gurneys.com/default.asp http://www.harrisseeds.com/ http://www.parkseed.com/gardening/GP/homepage/page1 http://www.4seasonsnurseries.com/index.asp http://www.territorialseed.com/ I've used a couple of the above places, with no complaints. But I'd personally rather highlight somewhat smaller ventures. Here's my Seed Company Link posting: Seed Company List on "Composted Links" blog I eagerly await any feedback you folks would like to share. My list was generated mostly by gathering information from the people here at Idigmygarden, so I owe you all a big "Thanks." THANKS! |

I just got finished going back over the web sites and was suprised to not find NativeSeeds.org ... The have been mentioned on this forum before and they have wonderful old varieties that are found no where else except in the backyards of native americans. I may be partial since they are here in Tucson, but trying their seeds have always been fun for me...

I listed Native Seeds/ SEARCH under "Specialists In Regionally Adapted Varieties." I suppose they should be in the "Open-Pollinated / Heirloom" section, too...
There are places that belong in more than one category, that's for sure. And for some, I already list them in more than one spot. That's one of the problems with deciding to categorize instead of having one big alphabetical list. But I think it's easier to use with smaller groupings. Opinons? |
