CharlesC, you might want to move your post to the Heirloom Gardening forum, as you currently are posting on the Trading Forum of the zones 5-7 seedtrain. Or if you are offering seed for trade, try a separate post of your own on the Trading forum.
Just curious--why did you throw out your tomato and pepper seeds? Were they moldy? If they were dry and not damaged, even if a year or two or three old, they might still grow. Did you dump them in your garden? If so, you may have a happy surprise next year. If you have questions about seedkeeping or saving, someone here on the Heirloom Gardening forum can probably give you some good info. And most small libraries have a seedsaving/keeping book or two, Ashworth or Rogers, or the Carla Emory Encyclopedia of Country Living. |

OK, I goofed, mea culpa. Forgot to put the teff and tobacco seeds that EarthAngel and at least one other participant on z5-7 train second go-around package. I'll mail them later as soon as they are found. But I did remember to put in multiple tiny packs of spelt.
Apologies again--should have looked at my list of what I was including before sealing the package, which at least does have over 20 different things from me and over 15 different from others on the first go-around, so hope our new order on this go-around will get some new choices to everyone on the combined train. And it is starting off in a shiny silver bubble envelope for the upcoming holiday season, so it should be easy to spot when it gets to your mailbox, lol. |

Tashak sorry just came back in. Had to look up my post. It's been years since I've saved seed just getting back into it. Kept the seed in the freezer till wife finally threw them out. I was raising heirloom tomatoes at the time, and now I'm almost strictly Hybrid. All my peppers, eggplants are open pollenated. Why did I almost give up gardening. Well there were more than 400 deer in 2 square miles in a park right next to me. Guess what they were not all in the Park. It finally got so bad I couldn't garden. Installed a Gallagher Fence this year, and was a good year, back saving seeds and willing to trade, keep forgetting which zone I'm in. I have several differerent kinds of peppers, lots of winged gourds, lil pump ke mons, lot of bumpy gourds, other stuff I can't think of right now. I didn't know this train was this long anyway. Guess what I don't know which station to get on , and which to get off, but will learn the ropes soon. One question since my gourds are grown on less than two acres, I can't call them except what they look like when I save the seed. So maybe I need to fall off the caboose

Charles C, you might try a new thread of your own on deer and Gallegher Fence and garden. (I don't know what a Gallegher Fence is, so I'd read that thread just out of curiosity.)
Hope you had a hunting license and lots of venison in the freezer in those past years! |

A nice, bright, shiny package was waiting for me when I got home from work! I immediately went through it. I took out a few fun things and put in a few more things I hope people like! I'll try and get the package on its way to BabyGarden on Saturday.
![]() Tashak, I love the organized package with the mailing list inside. Thanks so much! |
