Can people actually grow iceberg lettuce? I thought that was a commercially grown lettuce because it is nearly impossible for home gardeners to grow

The iceberg lettuce seeds seem to always be on the seed racks in the retail stores
I just figured a lot of people like tasteless iceberg lettuce (yuk) so the seed companies figure if people don't realize the lettuce most likely will not even grow into a head of lettuce, they may as wel sell the seeds, and make money off the customer .....save your money and buy a nice loose leaf lettuce to grow......

popcorn sounds great. iceburg seems like a waste since there is no nutritional value.
