Those are beautiful carrots!! Your garden is practical and grows great food, you should be so proud. In my opinion a veggie garden is much prettier than grass anyday!!

Wow! Those carrots are beautiful and I really love your front yard. It's creative and interesting. I'll bet your neighbors will be raiding your yard soon.

Thanks to all, it is so nice to share with people who understand the thrill and don't say things like "carrots are cheap, why go thru so much trouble." I don't think it's my imagination when I say I have never tasted a sweeter, more crisp carrot.
The garden is still a little messy...with two jobs, I only get one day a week to spend out there cleaning up, so it's slow going, but progress is being made. I started doing this To relax, so im taking my time and not giving myself a timeline to get it all done. Ohbirdlady, I think your Carrot looks awesome

Imzd,
Nice setup, it looks like your garden is in SoCal (I can tell from the sunlight and urban setting). I grow in SoCal with mainly containers. Carrots do very well in containers, btw are you using SWC containers? |

Thank you again to all
![]() @ nullzero: you're right, Sunny San Diego is it. They are not SWCs...this gardening noob didn't learn about those until after starting on this new adventure. Now that I've gotten so carried away, I'm torn between installing drip irrigation or switching over to the rain gutter system once it comes time to switch out the plants. I would greatly appreciate advice from any of you who have tried either of these methods. |
