Well,in hot Texas,I have never been able to grow celery from plants or seeds.

I tried it once. It rooted and started to grow. Then the groundhog found it.
I never tried again.

I usually buy plants, and don't know how much it likes texas heat. Might be better planted in nov or dec cause it can take a frost. I have good luck with it but it likes to be fed often. I usually plant three plants around a sucken gallon container and feed it with comfrey tea once a week. I dry tons of leaves and save for soups and seasonings.

I was soaking the cutting in water indoors. Been learning about heat tolerant plants and such lately

Find Train and ask him- he grows celery in Houston, of all places, and it does well for him.

We had great luck with it last year, this year not one seed sprouted. I too, would like some ideas on what to do.
