Nukes are broad spectrum chemical pesticides, like Sevin Dust. They kill everything including your beneficials and pollinators. Carbaryl is also listed as a known carcinogen for those who care.
I have seen an infestation like that here, but I killed them manually. It is best to kill the parents early in the season and remove eggs that you find on the leaves and sometimes even on the stems. If you catch them early on, they are easier to control. |

Because we are in a sever drought and most of the other food has died, the birds are hitting the squash bugs and cuke beetles on our cucurbits hard and where we had a bad infestation about 2 weeks ago you hardly see any now. But we still patrol and still find eggs and nymphs but not in anything like bug numbers.
