Most of you train riders know me, as i'm on, um, a few. Ok, I got some radish seed on one of the trains, and I really really would like to know what it is. I didn't have much luck this year with radishes (go ahead and laugh, I know you will), so pulled most of them up when they did not produce roots- just tops. Ok, in a secluded portion of my garden (read- lots of weeds), I was weeding, and pulled up a top that was almost as tall as I am, and lo and behold, it was a HUGE RADISH I'm talking softball size, black exterior, white interior, hubby had to cut off the top with a saw, it was that big. Just for grins, took it inside, peeled, and it's the best radish I've ever had!!!!!!! Not woody, not hot, sweet and mild. I seem to remember someone sending in one of the trains a black radish??????? I want more!!!! man, oh man, is it good- we're having it with dinner tonight, and I'll share my seed stash if someone knows what it is, and can trade me some.... Pleeez???

I wish I could help you! I have no idea. Don't you just hate it when you forget what is what?! I don't even know the names to some of the things in my garden.

I put a packet of a radish mix on a train some time back. It had red, blue, white, black, and green radishes in it. Unfortunately, I couldn't tell you much else. I tried to grow them here, but was trying during the wrong season and will have to try again this fall. If you think that may have been it, I could send more. Let me know.
